Mrs. Jane Parker

Jane Parker is an Oregon native who loves her role as a mother, wife, and teacher and has lived in Pagosa Springs for the past nine years.  She is honored to be the coordinator of Pagosa Family School and is dedicated to being a positive link between the communities, families, and students of Archuleta county.  She believes that our strength as schools and as a community is made greater when we work together to achieve common goals towards supporting and empowering our students to succeed personally and academically.

She has a masters degree in Latin American Studies with an emphasis on teaching Spanish, a bachelors degree in Spanish and a teachers license in Spanish. With a love for language and teaching, she has studied language in Spain and Venezuela, has served as a translator in Guatemala as well as in a migrant health clinic and has taught middle school and high school Spanish. She has served as an English teacher for children of all ages at Pwoje Espwa Orphanage in Les Cayes, Haiti and has also taught English in Argentina for business employees.

She finds joy in helping children learn about the world and themselves through the learning of language and looks forward to serving the community as Coordinator for the Pagosa Family School.
